KENNETH J. GERBINO FILE
Gerbino is a Top Level (Clear) OT VIII Scientologist. He was one of the three major corporate "takeover artists" of Athena Gold Corporation in 1988. See the TIME Magazine article dated May 6, 1990 by Rich Behar for details. Gerbino and fellow cultists entered the secondary funding as disguised benign investors, brought in by Haywood Securities (a cult aligned securities firm in Vancouver, B.C. ). Gerbino claims to have begun his career in the gold mining business in 1976, ten years before Hubbard died. Linking the Vancouver Stock Exchange with cult gold bugs and newsletter writers (penny stock floggers such as Doug Casey), was easy to do in a major target such as gold-rich Nevada.
In this issue of FREEDOM (Dec. 1989/Jan. 1990), Gerbino's propaganda spin on praising "tax reform" with the leading politicians of Nevada invites the false impression that he is a "good guy" touting a popular piece of legislation that the Reid and cult camps apparently concocted together. However, Gerbino remains silent regarding the corporate espionage activities he had conducted just a short year previously in the bizarre takeover activities of Athena and the Talapoosa gold mine discovery of between one to two million ounces. He also left out his huge illegal stock position of 1,600,000 shares of cheap Athena Gold stock that was ill-gotten and intended to benefit his "mutual fund".
It may be remembered that Doug Casey was the Libertarian vice-presidential candidate in 1996. His running mate -- for president -- was Harry Browne. This same bunch of penny stock scamsters would aid Harry Reid considerably by campaigning for the Libertarian Party in 1998. They scrounged enough votes away from Ensign to aid Reid by 428 votes. Without the Scientologists, Harry Reid would not even be a U.S. Senator today.
Yes, Harry Reid has some very unsavory fellow travelers ... in my opinion.
